Leon LeBlanc is author of 'I am a Stranger in a Strange Land' , which is the first of three novels by the author telling the story of three generations of the immigrant experience in the UK. The novel is of the narrative non-fiction genre - that is to say that it is based on real events, but is embroidered for artistic purposes.

It predominantly covers the years 1956 to 1964, the period in which many of what are now known as the Windrush Generation migrated to the UK to help to man major industries following World War 2, in this case the booming steelworks in the industrial north of England.

The book covers my father's fight to buy the house in which my siblings and I eventually grew up.
